Maha Kumbhabhishekam By the Grace of the Almighty, fourteen years after we established the Vedic Spiritual and Cultural Center of San Diego (VCSCSD), we moved to our new premises on Miramar Road to accommodate the steadily growing number of devotees and events. VCSCSD is very pleased to announce that the Maha Kumbhabhisheka Mahotsavam for our Temple at the our new location (9252 Miramar Road, San Diego) performed according to Vedic traditions on June 6-8, 2014. As the name indicates, Kumbhabhishekam indicates bathing of the sacred Kalasas atop the Temple Tower over the Garbha-Gruha or the sanctum sanctorum with holy water that has been sanctified through Homams, Vedic recitations, pujas and prayers. Through these three days of consecration ritual, we beseech that the blessings of the Omnipresent Supreme and the Divine Cosmic Energy of the universe enter the sanctum and the Moola Murthis, with the Kumbhams atop the sanctum residing as repositories of that Divine Grace, so that worship can commence at the new place. The Mandala pujas subsequently performed for a month following Maha Kumbhabhishekam further help to enhance the spiritual power of the Moolasthanam. Steeped in spiritual and religious significance, and invoking peace and harmony, the Kumbhabhishekam rituals and incantations therefore have an everlasting beneficial effect on the society as a whole. The rituals also provide an opportunity for all of us devotees to renew and revitalize our dedication to God, to the Temple, and to the community. We invite all our patrons to participate in this wonderful milestone event for our center with family and friends, and to receive the blessings of the Almighty. See more details...
